ÖPPEN INBJUDAN – utställning på Munnen
höst och vinter 2024

Nu välkomnar vi ansökningar till att ha utställning på/i Munnen under höst och vinter 2024. Vi  är öppna för alla former av konstnärliga uttryck, av individer och kollektiv, konst, hantverk, design, musik, poesi, video, performance och sociala aktiviteter.

Utställningsperioden innefattar 
  • Tre veckors utställningstid (exempelvis öppet vernissagehelg samt 2 helger)*
  • Tillgång till Munnens lokaler under avtalade tider*
  • Utställningsersättning på 10 000 kr (inklusive moms, utbetalas mot faktura)
  • Du kommer att ansvara för att öppna/stänga lokalen och ta emot besökare under utställningens öppettider

Utställningsperiod 1: 7 – 22 september (tillgång till Munnen från 26 aug)
Utställningsperiod  2: 12 – 27 oktober (tillgång till Munnen från 30 sept)
Utställningsperiod  3: 16 november – 1 december (tillgång till Munnen från 4 november)

*Baserat på projektets/arbetets natur kommer vi överens om passande öppettider och tider för installering, tillgång till lokalen för undersökande arbete, workshops och/eller andra publika aktiviteter.

Om Munnen

Munnen ligger på bottenvåningen bredvid tvättstugan i ett bostadshus från 1970-talet, på Byälvsvägen 18 i Bagarmossen. Vi är ett konstnärsdrivet projektrum som använder konst, mat, workshops och samtal för att skapa en ny mötesplats för konst och publicering. Vi som driver Munnen är konstnärer och grafiska formgivare som delar en önskan att centrera språk och gemenskap med feministisk, postkolonial, queer etik som grund. Vi är intresserade av publicering, grafisk design, bildkonst, performance och skrivande/läsning som olika sätt att engagera sig i Byälvsvägens närområde. I Munnen finns ett växande  läsrum som tillgängliggör pamfletter och böcker om t.ex. social organisering, matlagning, odling, feminism, ekologisk aktivism, koreografi, poesi, konstprojekt och radikal pedagogik.

Lokalen & tillgänglighet

Munnen är 20 kvadratmeter med ett litet badrum, en diskho och en kokplatta. Det finns bänkar, bokhyllor, pallar, bordsskivor, betongväggar, tre stora fönster, grannskapet i rörelse mellan tvättstuga, centrum, hem, ett litet grönområde utanför och närhet till Nackareservatet, Bagisodlarna med hönsgård, Byälvans lokaler och japanska trädgården. På husens fasader finns ett offentligt konstverk från 1980 av Mats Rehnman, tidigare medlem av Målarbrigaden Katten. Munnen ligger cirka 10 minuters promenad från tunnelbanan. Det finns en allmänt tillgänglig parkeringsplats vid nästa hus med en rampad gångväg ner till Munnen. Vår entré har en 2 cm hög tröskel och badrummet är inte rullstolsanpassat. Trafiken är inte hörbar inifrån Munnen och vi är omgivna av gångvägar och grönska i bostadsområdet.

Ansökan

Ansök med en beskrivning av vad du vill göra på/med Munnen: Vad vill du ställa ut eller dela med dig av? Vi är öppna för alla former av konst, hantverk, design, musik, poesi, video, performance eller sociala aktiviteter. Beskriv vad du vill visa och hur du skulle vilja använda utrymmet och utställningsperioden. 

Skriv en text på max 2000 tecken där du beskriver ditt förslag. Du kan också spela in en video där du berättar vad du vill göra på Munnen. Du kan skicka med max 5 bilder om du vill visa skisser eller tidigare arbeten. Om du vill kan du skicka med länkar som visar mer om dig själv eller ditt arbete.

OPEN CALL – Exhibition at Munnen, fall & winter 2024 


We are accepting applications for exhibition periods at Munnen during autumn and winter 2024. We welcome all forms of artistic expression, whether individual or collective, including art, craft, design, music, poetry, video, performance, or social activities.

Each exhibition period includes:

  • One month (for example open during 3 weekends, including the opening and public activities)*
  • Access to Munnen's premises for install, deinstall, and hosting the exhibition*
  • Exhibition fee of 10 000 SEK (incl VAT, payed on invoice)
  • You will be responsible for opening/closing the space and hosting the work during your exhibition’s opening hours

Exhibition period 1: 7 – 22 September (access to Munnen from 26 aug)

Exhibition period 2: 12 – 27 October (access to Munnen from 30 sept)

Exhibition period 3: 16 November – 1 December (access to Munnen from 4 november)

*Based on the nature of the project/work, we will agree on suitable opening hours and times for installation, access to the venue for exploratory work, courses, and/or other public activities.

About Munnen

Munnen is an artist-run project space that utilizes art, food, workshops, and conversations to create a new meeting place which expands notions of publishing. Munnen’s initiators are artists and graphic designers who share a desire to center language and community with feminist, postcolonial, queer ethics as a foundation. We are interested in publishing, graphic design, visual arts, performance and writing/reading as different ways of engaging with the local area of Byälvsvägen. At Munnen we host a growing reading room which focuses on topics such as social organization, ecology, cooking, poetry, choreography, feminism, art, and radical pedagogy. 

Space & Accessibility

Munnen is located on the ground floor next to the laundry room of a residential building from the 1970s, situated at Byälvsvägen 18 in Bagarmossen. The space is 20 square meters with a toilet, sink, and hot plate. There are benches, bookshelves, stools, tabletops, concrete walls, three large windows, the neighborhood in motion between the laundry room, center, home, a small green area outside, and proximity to Nacka nature reserve, Bagisodlarna, and the Japanese garden. On the facade of the building there is a public artwork by Mats Rehnman from 1980, former member of Målarbrigaden Katten. We are located about a 10 minute walk from the subway. There is a publicly accessible parking lot at the next house with a ramped pathway down to Munnen. Our entrance has a 2 cm high threshold, and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. The street is not audible from inside Munnen, and we are surrounded by residential pedestrian walkways and greenery.

Application Instructions

What do you want to exhibit or share? We are open to all forms of artistic expression, including art, craft, design, music, poetry, video, performance, to even social activities. Describe what you want to show and how you would like to use the space and exhibition period.

Write a text of maximum 2000 characters. You can also record a video telling us what you want to do at Munnen. You can include up to 5 photos if you want to show sketches or previous work. If you want, you can include links that show more about yourself or your work.
